NICU The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MCG Children’s Medical Center is a special place. Here, tiny babies fight for their lives. But thanks to some of the most advanced technology and specially trained staff in the Southeast, even the smallest of our patients has the chance for a healthy future. MCG has the area’s only Level III-D Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to nurture high-risk newborns, featuring leading-edge technology and expert staff to care for both mother and child through a variety of complications. We take a unique approach to meeting the complex needs of premature babies and their families. Our highly trained team of specialists works closely to care for newborn babies. This special team extends beyond neonatology to include the expertise of many other pediatric specialties at MCG. And, we believe in patient- and family-centered care. Parents are allowed 24-hour visitation. We know that the most important people in a newborn’s life are her parents. We’re here to make sure every baby gets a healthy start on life. |
